Asterisms are a recognizable pattern or grouping of stars in the night sky that is not one of the officiallly recognized constellations. Constellations are baiscally official neighborhoods used by astronomers and amateur astronomers to divide the sky into areas. Asterisms are the unofficial, easy to spot landmarks either within or between them.
Father Lucian Kemble is a famous amateur astronomer who is known for finding many asterisms in our night sky. Kemble 2 is one of his disovered.
