Items for Sale Telescopes

I have the following telescopes for sale. All sales are final and due to size I would prefer local pickup, or I would be willing to drive within 2 hours of Salt Lake City to meet someone. As a FYI I am out of town on vacation from Saturday 9/13 to 9/27/25 and will not be able to sell or ship.

If you request shipping please know the following. 

1. I will have the scope professoinal packaged so you will need to pay for that. 

2. Buyer pays all shipping costs and insurance costs. If you opt for no insurance I will not refund your money. 

3. Buyer pays all fees. I would prefer Venmo but will take PayPal if you pay the fees.  Money order is acceptable. However I will not ship until the money order clears the bank.   


1. Celestron Orange Comet Chaser. 

See this video for information. It is a 1983 Celestron Comet catcher and I have replaced the mounting from the photographic to an actual mount for mounting on a mount.  There are a few scratches on the tube but the corrector plate is excellent and it gives great views. This is a wonderful classic scope in very good condition.  Asking $300 firm.

4. Berlebach Spica Mount with Omega Tilt Head and Skywatcher EQ6. 

The Mount is a Berlebach Spica with an Omega Tilt head. The mount and tilt head go for $580.00 at Agena Astro LINK. Tripod is a Skywatcher EQ6 and goes for $200 new. I will sell the the Berlebach Spica mount and the Omega Tilt Head for $300 and the Tripod for $100 for a total of $400.  I'll include the counterweights for free.

8. For Sale: Explore Scientific AR102 Achromatic Refractor Telescope

Description:
I am selling my Explore Scientific AR102, a fantastic 4-inch (102mm) achromatic refractor telescope. This is a great grab-and-go scope for both beginners and experienced astronomers who want a portable, high-quality instrument for stunning views of the moon, planets, and a wide range of deep-sky objects.

The AR102 has a focal length of 663mm and a fast f/6.5 focal ratio, making it a versatile performer. The air-spaced doublet lens is fully multi-coated, providing bright, high-contrast images. While achromatic refractors have a bit of chromatic aberration (false color) on very bright objects, it is well-controlled and does not detract from the breathtaking views of the moon and planets. For deep-sky objects, the color-free views are truly impressive. I am including a Yellow #8 1 1/4" and a 1 1/4 inch contrast filter that will aid in reducing the chromatic aberration. 

This telescope is in very good condition.  I am the original owner and have owned it for almost 10 years now. The optics are clean and have been well-maintained. There are , a few minor scuffs on the tube and one on the dew shield that are very minor and that do not affect performance.

I am selling it since I have acquired a TeleVue 101 and an Evostar 100mm ED.

Description:
I am selling my new (only used 3 times, purchased in June 2025) SvBony SV48p telescope. This is a fantastic achromatic refractor, perfect for both beginners and experienced astronomers. Its a great grab-and-go scope for quick visual observations of the Moon, planets, and brighter deep-sky objects. The dual-speed focuser allows for precise adjustments, and the fully multi-coated objective lens provides sharp, clear images with minimal chromatic aberration. I had intended to keep this as my refractor and grab and go with my 10" dob but with the TeleVue 101 and Sky-Watcher 100mm ED Evostar, I don't need to keep this any longer. This is an EXCELLENT scope . . . even without the filters I really did not notice the chromatic aberations on the moon or bright stars. The filters basically eliminated it for me.
