So last night, I was hoping to simply set up in my backyard and image and observe the Lunar Eclipse. Mother Nature unfortunately for me had other plans. The forecast was for drizzle and cloud cover over my home so that ruled out doing this the easy way.
Instead, I loaded up the TeleVue NP101 and the SeeStar S50 and I drove out to a location I have which is about 1 hour and 45 minutes southwest of my home. It was 1:30 am when I left so unfortunately, no pictures of the drive out. I was a little bit concerned about the roads with all the rain we've had lately, about 3/4 on an inch. The National Weather Service though reported that where I was heading only about 1/4 or less of rain had fallen.
Sure enough, the roads were mostly dry, with some wet and muddy areas on the side of the road. I got out to my location about 3:10 a.m. and set up. I set up the TeleVue really quick and then the SeeStar S50 and got it signed in and aligned. I then watched and using my phone and the SeeStar S50 captured these images and movie.
