Artist rendition of aftermath of a Kilonova

 

After posting here, on EadsyAstronomy and on YouTube for EadsyAstronomy, I had a comment asking about Kilonova. So I made this entry up in response to the comment asking for more information on Kilonova. 

A Kilonova to get this out of the way, is a cosmic event, that is rare and is the result of the merger of two neutron stars that are in orbit around each other or the merger of a neutron star with a black hole.

Sunspot AR4366 is REALLY Flaring Up!!!

 

 

Taken from my SeeStar S50 this afernoon showing AR4366 and its complexity and several other sunspots. 

 

Just in: AR4366 just let off a X8.1 Flare at 6:57 pm EST!!!! 

AR4366 appeared on the Earth facing Solar limb on 1/31/26. In two days it has risen to be very complex and has released over 23 M Class and now 5 XClass Flares and several CME's. The CME's should only cause a glancing blow to Earth. This region is super active and look forward to more events this week.
